In the past, henna was used by ladies getting married, getting engaged and other important occasions and events. But now, henna is getting popular among people of all ages and races and can be used anytime.

During our trip, we learnt that the jasmines on the garland represent peace and the roses represent love.

They are also used for welcoming people and used during funerals.

Before entering this temple, hindus are required to remove their footwear.  They must also walk round clockwise and only in odd numbers. When hindus enter the temple, they ring a bell to let the gods know that they have entered and ring the bell again before they leave to let the gods know they are leaving. Ringing the bell also gives the person good luck. The main focus of every temple will be the the god you see the moment you step into the temple. God Kali Amman is the main focus of the temple.
